Body-oriented attachment therapy

One-to-one sessions in Amsterdam

The lens through which we see the world is largely shaped in the first years of our lives. Everything we experience in that period leaves traces in our body. They live on as stories in our heads, and as tension, pain or blocks in our body.

Would you like to feel freer and happier, on a deeper level? Your body can show you the way. By slowing down, feeling and listening to what your body has to tell you, room opens up for insight, change and movement.

I'm glad to guide you in this.

Is this for you?

  • Do you keep running into the same things?
  • Do you have little energy?
  • Do you tend to put yourself last?
  • Do you long for more meaning, direction, vitality and (self-)love?

What we do

Feeling what is there

We make room for whatever you can feel in your body right now. Feelings that were once too frightening, or had no place back then, get attention too, one step at a time.

Recognising patterns

We explore the patterns, including patterns of thought, that keep coming back. How do you talk to yourself, and where did that voice come from?

Moving towards tension

We move towards blocks and tension instead of away from them. That is where release and relaxation can happen.

With body and voice

I work with conversation, breath, touch, movement, voice expression and instruments.

This is not a quick fix. It's a process in which you learn, with compassion, to recognise old patterns, feel them through and let them go. That makes room for different choices, and for more freedom, love and aliveness.

How to start

You can start with a body reading, a shorter first meeting. After that you continue session by session.

On a tight budget, but keen to get started? Feel free to get in touch, and we'll look at the possibilities together.

What people say

“I learned to dare to welcome my fears and to look at what lies beneath them. And I practised a lot with gentleness and being loving towards myself. Inge brings so much safety, gentleness and skill; somehow she sees exactly what is going on, and where, in my body, and lovingly brings it to the surface so we can work with it.”

“Inge's guidance was very pleasant, warm and understanding. She listened to me and was with me with calm, warmth, empathy and ease (not too serious). I wouldn't dare to surrender like that and let everything go with just any coach. I realised I can't relax enough because I always want to be on standby. Then I experienced deep rest, and heavy emotions became lighter.”

“Inge is very empathetic. I think she has a strong intuitive power that lets her mean a great deal to others through this work. I can sometimes feel very unsafe in situations like this, but Inge reassured me so easily, and thanks to her I could surrender to the process. What I also find really special is how, afterwards, Inge gave an analysis of my breathing that was spot on in many ways. Really impressive! From my breathing she said things about me that are absolutely themes in my life.”

My training

Practical

Which language?

English or Dutch.

Where?

Europaplein 127, Amsterdam.

How many sessions will I need?

That differs per person and depends on what is going on for you. Some people I guide for half a year, others for four years. What matters most is that you notice your quality of life improving and something really changing.

This process takes time, attention and commitment. Changing patterns at a deeper level doesn't happen overnight. It's really like learning a new language: the language of your body. You learn to listen, feel and understand better and better what your body is telling you. Step by step, room opens up for lasting change.

Do you offer breathwork?

Not as a separate session. Breath is one of the ways in during my sessions.

Can I ask something first?

Of course. Email or call me, or send a message through the form.
